The Resource National Natality Followback Survey, 1964-1966

Summary: This collection provides information on a sample of live births in the United States during the calendar years 1964-1966. The natality data in this file are a component of the vital statistics collection effort maintained by the federal government. Geographic variables of residence for births include the state and county, and metropolitan/nonmetropolitan county. Other variables include health insurance coverage, the place of delivery, whether there was an attendant at birth, legitimacy of the child, live-birth order, and the type of delivery. Demographic variables include each sample child's sex and race, birth weight, date of birth, date of death, the parents' age and race, date of birth, education level, place of birth, family income, as well as the mother's marital history, household composition, and employment status during pregnancy. Information was also collected on the sex, date of birth, and date of death of the mother's previous births
