Summary
Federico is a frustrated writer who wonders if he has the marathon endurance necessary to complete a long-unfinished novel. Over the course of four nights, he stares at the passing traffic from his Buenos Aires balcony and wanders the darkened streets in a state of romantic desolation, finding excuses to avoid writing and waiting for the muse to call upon him. In voiceover, he ponders the essence of his favorite composers: Beethoven, Schubert, Messiaen. Finally, he returns home to confront his possibly unfaithful spouse in a scene that is as perceptive about marriage as the rest of the movie is about the difficulty of artistic expression
