Context of Petition of owners and masters of steamships and sailing vessels engaged in the coasting trade between New Orleans and ports on the Gulf of Mexico, praying such an amendment to the act declaring the railroad and bridges of the New Orleans and Chattanooga Railroad Company a post road, as will compel said company to construct a draw-bridge, of not less than three hundred feet wide, across the Great Rigolet.
