Summary
Carmen is a strong and beautiful woman approaching fifty. At a dinner at her son's house, Carmen's son reproaches her for the way she has leds her life. When she leaves the apartment, preparing to get into her car, Carmen is sexually assaulted by a group of hoodlums. Back at home, her significant other, Fernando, seems unable to help her make sense of what has happened. Humiliated and frightened, Carmen checks into a hotel to be alone, and writes a letter to Fernando, in which she explains that she must look back and search for her parents, her first husband, her past
