Summary
In the town of Patagonia, an elder leader of the Mapuches sets on fire a tourist complex which is being constructed on sacred Mapuche ground. This fire causes the death of the developer's son. Accused of murder, the chief refuses to defend himself; he has the hope of a magic event that only the Mapuches know about, i.e., the arrival of Caleuche: the ship of the insane. A white female lawyer defends the chief, and in her study of the Mapuche community, discovers that the chief has behaved according to his (Mapuche) law, defending and protecting a sacred cemetery
